I've been a fan of American craft my whole life. I learned to quilt from my grandmother as a child, and learned printmaking and wood carving from a favorite teacher. Pottery came later, after I retired a number of years ago. Like many potters, I wish I had started sooner!
I usually make functional pots, and find myself drawn to simple forms and minimal decoration. I also like sgraffito for its clean lines and unlimited possibilities for expression.
