Clayworks offers classes at our studio 4 times per year. We teach a variety of pottery techniques, including wheel throwing, hand-building, extruder work, and glazing. 

Classes are for new and returning students and experienced potters. See below for additional information.

Classes are ten week sessions. Two class times are offered.  Tuesday morning, 9 a.m. to noon and Tuesday evening, 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. Labs are offered to supplement classes.  These are held Tuesday noon to 3 p.m., Thursday 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to noon.

Classes have up to 10 students catering to all skill levels. The instructors teach each level as determined by the makeup of the class. 

Cost: $250 per term, which includes:

  • 50lbs. of clay

  • studio glazes

  • firing of ware

  • studio use during lab times

    *Students are responsible for their own tools.*

Clayworks Summer 2026 - Dates to Watch

Clayworks Summer 2026 evening class will have students fire using the Cone 10 Reduction Fire Gas Kiln.

Clayworks is excited to offer a Cone 10 Reduction Gas Fire class. This class will have students make almost the entirety of their work using the Gas Kiln. This class will be the evening only summer term 2026 class. Students who take the morning class may have the option to put some work into the gas kiln but kiln space is not guaranteed.

We are offering this class as an opportunity for students to create a volume of work utilizing cone 10 reduction. For those of you who are interested in creating work with complex, earthy, and varied glaze effects consider signing up for this class!
