Marcus started studying pottery at Clayworks Pottery in Wacousta, MI in 2014. Marcus realized pottery was more than a hobby for him – it was a new passion. At Clayworks, he continued developing his skills, exploring ideas, and channeling his creative talents.

In 2016, Marcus' career moved to New Orleans, LA but that did not dissuade him from continuing with pottery. Now, Marcus has returned to Clayworks!

There is something remarkable in how quite different and freeing the creative art of pottery is, where imperfection is to be expected and even valued, from Marcus’ professional work as a microbiologist, where matters are structured and precise and specific results are often expected.
